“It has been such a pleasure to take part in something so inclusively positive! I've loved learning about other communities: their cultures, identities, and celebrations. I especially loved being a part of this group with my good friends-- I wouldn't have asked to do it with anyone else. I've always been very proud of my identity and background; I'm so glad I was able to share this love with other people throughout my years at CHS. I think these groups serve as a wonderful reminder to show up for others. It's important to do all things with purpose and in love!”
“The experience I had as an affinity leader was something that will stick with me forever. From being just a member my freshman year to now leading the The Young Men of Color for 3 years just shows the growth I made as a leader and a person. I have now plenty of lessons and knowledge from Ms. Bouggess, Mr. Moore, Justin, Shawn, and all the member part of the The Young Men of Color that I would like to thank all of them for. One thing I learned though to never be afraid to show your true self especially with the group we have because no matter if your experience is good or bad the group always got your back. “I am proud that I along with my group members created an annual flag football game that will support charities for years to come when I have graduated and created an Instagram page with many followers that will allow our message to be reached. I think I have grown as a person and a leader throughout these years of being in Athletes for Social Justice that I will take with me through my journey of college and even beyond for the rest of my life. I think I made a lasting impact on the younger and future leaders of this group and it will continue to grow and spread the message of creating an all inclusive community that strive to improve the climate of Cinnaminson High School and hopefully Cinnaminson entirely.”
